We all have a fundamental need to be known and loved —to be seen and valued in who we are.

My name is Katie and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Washington State serving individuals, couples, and families. Whatever has brought you here today, I see you. Pain is often unavoidable and paralyzing, but it can also serve as a catalyst for deeper understanding of ourselves, others, and what we truly value in life. I am so glad you’re here. I believe all humans are capable of healing and change when we are safely known and loved, no matter who you are or where you have come from.

Throughout our therapeutic journey, I will provide the space you need to breathe, pause, and turn inward toward clarity, reconnection, and healing. It is never too late to pursue the freedom that you’re longing for.

I warmly welcome you to come as you are and am privileged to journey with you.

My Values

Relational

I believe the therapist-client relationship is one of the most important parts of your therapy experience. My goal is for you to feel safety and ease in your time with me.

Cultural Competence

I am humble and curious about your specific lived experience and how your identity (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, religion, class, abilities, and cultural background) impacts your experience the world. As a white-American, heterosexual, cisgendered female, I value the way our identities intersect, both in our differences and similarities.

authenticity

I bring my whole self into the therapy room, thoughtfully integrating my personality, lived experiences, and relevant flections into our work together.

Spirituality

I believe the mind, body, and soul are interconnected. It is with respect that I follow your lead in how you would like to integrate spirituality into your therapeutic journey.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming

If you identify as LGBTQIA+, you are welcome. I aim to be an ally to you in kindness, compassion, and support throughout our work together and beyond.

Non-pathological

We all have a story. I see your experiences as being shaped by your lived history and the world around you. I am here to help you cultivate more peace, connection, and meaning in your life.

My Approach

My own story has taught me that while pain and difficulties are unavoidable, they can often become a catalyst to a deeper understanding of ourselves and others.

Profound beauty can be found within our brokenness.

In the therapeutic process, I will make space for you – space to breathe, pause, and turn inward. As we move toward healing and wholeness in your life and your relationships, we will use some of the following approaches:

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)/Attachment-based

We will focus on understanding and improving emotional connections within your relationships, helping individuals and couples address underlying needs and foster secure, loving bonds. We will also aim to better understand your attachment style and the ways in which this affects your connections and experiences.

EFT is a highly effective and scientifically validated therapy model that focuses on individuals, couples, or families, examining their emotional experiences, identifying underlying needs, and working together to create more secure, loving relationships that foster deeper emotional connections and lasting intimacy. I have received live supervision and training in EFT under researcher, author, and esteemed clinician Dr. James Furrow in Los Angeles, CA.

Experiential

We will lean into your emotions and allow them to be a part of the healing process that is happening in our work together.

Relational

We will emphasize the importance of relationships in your mental & emotional health and personal growth, exploring how connections with others influence feelings, behaviors, and overall well-being.

Psychodynamic

We will examine how your past experiences shape your current desires and fears, often in ways you might not fully recognize.

Humanistic

I aim to guide your therapeutic journey, but I believe you are the expert of your experience.

Trauma-Focused Therapy

We will carefully process how past and ongoing physical and emotional traumas have impacted both your mind and body and focus on developing skills that help to resolve the physical and emotional symptoms you may still carry with you.

Let’s work together to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your underlying needs.
